Benefits of an Apprenticeship
Learner

You will have a contract of employment with your employer, learning new skills whilst earning a wage.

Earn while you learn

You'll gain nationally recognised qualifications that will be valid for any employer. That means you can change jobs and take your skills and qualifications with you.

What is an Apprenticeship?

An Apprenticeship is a nationally recognised training programme combining real work with learning and training, both on and off the job.

Apprentices are open to everyone aged 16 and above. Whether you are a school leaver, have been in or are already in employment and/or are seeking to start a new career.

As employees, apprentices earn a wage and work alongside experienced staff to gain job specific skills.

Levels of Apprenticeships:

Intermediate Level Apprenticeships

This is where apprentices work towards work-based learning qualifications such as a Level 2 Competence Qualification, Functional Skills (e.g. Maths and English) and, in most cases, a relevant knowledge-based qualification.

Advanced Level Apprenticeships

This is where apprentices work towards work-based learning such as a Level 3 Competence Qualification, Functional Skills (e.g. Maths and English) and, in most cases, a relevant knowledge-based qualification.

Higher Apprenticeship

Higher apprenticeships are available at a range of levels, from the equivalent of a foundation degree to a bachelor’s degree and soon at master’s degree level in some sectors.

Get qualified

The training included in your apprenticeship programme is either fully or partially funded, as follows: (England)

Apprentices will deliver skills that are designed for your business. Their apprenticeship is moulded to your business and what you want to gain from the programme.

Help fill your skills gaps
To put it simply, an apprenticeship delivers real results and is fantastic value for your business by improving productivity and helping you get a step ahead of your competitors.

Improve your essential point
Apprentices tend to be eager, flexible, and loyal to your company. Their motivation can be a huge asset, at the end of the day they are completing an apprenticeship because they know it’s the right fit for them – they earn, they learn and they develop skills in an industry they have committed to.

Motivate your workforce
Higher Apprenticeship
Higher apprenticeships are available at a range of levels, from the equivalent of a foundation degree to a bachelor’s degree and soon at master’s degree level in some sectors.

As far as apprenticeship funding for employers goes, there are many different funding rules that depend on the level of apprenticeship, the age of the apprentice and your business’ industry.
